While in the hospital I missed a flight to San Francisco for a meeting. JetBlue refunded my non-refundable tickets (a week later) which, I DID NOT purchase travel insurance for... no questions asked.

How 'bout them apples US Air?

Just in case I haven't been clear: JetBlue is a great airline that treats its customers with respect and US Air is a washed up airline with old planes and poor service. Ride the former if you want a better than average experience, ride with the later if you are fearless and extremely patient.
